Can i cancel my order after it’s placed?
For select orders we have up to 60 minutes to make changes to an order. Orders beyond this timeframe cannot be modified or cancelled. If requesting within 60 minutes of order placement, please contact us via chat or phone to see if the option is available. If we are unable to process a cancellation, you may return any eligible items for a refund in accordance with our return policy.
Can I change my shipping address or payment method after my order is placed?
We are unable to modify an address or payment method after an order has been submitted. For select orders we have up to 60 minutes to cancel an order. Orders beyond this timeframe cannot be modified or cancelled. If requesting within 60 minutes, please contact us via chat or phone to see if the option is available. If we are unable to process a cancellation, you may return any eligible items for a refund in accordance with our return policy.
Do you offer price adjustments?
We gladly honor a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the retail purchase or mail-order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments. Orders already placed with a coupon or promotion are also ineligible for additional discounts. Promotions and coupons cannot be applied to previous purchases.
Can I exchange an item?
We do not offer even exchanges. Start your return process here and place a new order online for a replacement item. Once we receive your return, we will refund the purchase amount to the original form of payment. Please allow up to two weeks for your return to be processed.

What about Marketplace items?
Items delivered by our Marketplace vendors must be returned directly to them and will not be accepted at Madewell stores or the distribution center. To return your items, please follow the instructions that are enclosed in your package. You will receive a confirmation email once the Marketplace vendor has received your package and a refund has been processed.
Returning a gift?
Click here to start your return and generate a prepaid label (no printer required). Once we receive your return, we will refund the purchase amount to a Madewell e-gift card. Bring your gift receipt to any Madewell store for a refund, in accordance with our policy.
How long does it take to process the return?
Please allow up to two weeks from the date you mail your item(s) back for your return to be processed—you will receive an email confirmation when complete.
How long does it take to receive my refund?
Once you receive your email indicating your return has been processed, you can expect to receive your credit in 3-5 business days.
Is there a return fee?
For Madewell Insiders, return shipping is free if returned within 30 days. For all other U.S. customers, if you use our pre-paid return
label, the cost of return shipping is $7.50 for any number of items and will be deducted from your refund. You may also choose to mail the item back using
your own insured, traceable method.

European Union/United Kingdom Customers: If you cancel your order within 14 days under the Distance Selling Regulations, we will refund the purchase price of the items canceled and the delivery charges. UK statutory rights are not affected by our return policy.
How do I request a return label?
Can I return my item to a store?
Online and phone purchases, including orders placed in stores for delivery, that shipped to a U.S. address, may be returned to any Madewell
store in the United States.
Madewell gladly accepts returns of unworn, unwashed, undamaged or defective merchandise purchased in our retail stores for full refund or exchange within 30
days of the original purchase. Returns of swimwear, bodysuits and intimates will only be accepted with the original tags and protective liners intact.
Beauty products must be returned in new or gently used condition. Requests for refund or exchange of merchandise purchased by cash must be accompanied by
the original receipt. Requests to exchange merchandise received as a gift must be accompanied by a gift receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the
original payment, unless we agree to credit a different payment type. All monogrammed, personalized and final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
Please note that all vintage items and items that have been altered are final sale.
Can I return my store purchase through the mail?
Yes. Returns can be processed by mail for items purchased in our retail stores within 30 days of original purchase. Please ship to the below mailing address and include a copy of your receipt in your return package.

Can I include multiple returns in the same package?
Yes, please be sure to include the return packing slips from each order in the package. If you returned more than one order in the same package, please allow an additional week for all orders to be credited. For a faster refund, ensure your return label and return slip correspond with the items in your package and mail returns from multiple orders individually.
